Video: Unreleased TELUS Motorola Milestone

With the TELUS Motorola Milestone being one of the most anticipated devices to come to Canada this year… I can let you know that I’m crazy excited to test this out. We got hold of one – still waiting on an official launch date – but as you can see in the video it looks like this Android-powered beast is ready for action.

It’s lighter than I originally thought and looks really incredibly sleek. The Milestone has a full slide out QWERTY keyboard and comes with a 3.7-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash, Android OS 2.0.1 with access to the Android Market (still no paid apps), comes with 16GB and can hold up to 32GB with a microSD card. More specs are the full HTML browser, WiFi and the rumoured pricing that we’ve heard is $199 and $549 outright.

Over the next few days I’ll be hammering out a review but we’re told the version that I’ve got in my hand is not the final hardware or software. So send us all your questions!

(The vid is still processing through YouTube so it may be a bid pixelated)

    1. Does Telus mention anything about the Car Kit? Will the Car Kit come with the phone? or as an Accessories?

    2. “comes with 16GB … microSD card”
      that’s a great news.
Android 2.0.1 is great, I hope 2.1 update is planed.
For $549 outright, that would be the best (android) smartphone available in Canada.

    3. Wow, now I don’t know if I should wait for the 3G Nexus One or get the Milestone from Telus.

    4. Please test the calendar function and the call reception. Also, how fast will HSPA+ downloads be compared to WIFI. Thanks

    7. “Not the final hardware”? How could that be, when the unit is within weeks of release? Factories take a long time to spool up their production. Software, on the other hand…. maybe Telus is still busy seeing how they can cripple this device?

    8. I wish it had a Touch Pro2 keyboard, instead of that flat membrane keyboard.

    9. May be it would be a great device, but Razor slightly discredited Motorola’s name in cell phone industry. I’d say Nexus one is the way to go. Also keypad is un-useful feature IMO, just extra size and weight.

    12. Can’t wait to read your thoughts on keyboard useability. This will be a deal breaker for me.

    17. Finally, a decent GSM android phone in NA. Now if I could only find out how to buy this and get it over to the US.
