Motorola searches for Marketing Manager to help with 2010 launches

We’d like to help out Motorola as this coming year will hopefully be a positive year for them in both product launches and organizational stability. A definite year of reinvention.

A Motorola job description states they are looking a Marketing Manager for an 8 month contract position. With the anticipated launch of the TELUS Motorola Milestone and other Android-powered devices going to Rogers, the position states the person will be “responsible for product launches into the channel, training, field programs, merchandising, point of sale, PR, advertising, carrier programs, sell through of the product and project management of website detail”.

  1. So, they have been selling cellular telephone for, what, 20 years? Now they need someone (for only 8 months mind you) to handle all the marketing of Android-based devices? Sounds like a sinking ship to me. I also notice the new carriers are staying away from Motorola devices. Interesting.

  2. This is just the Canadian release of the Droid right?

I was down in the states a little while ago and had a chance to play with this phone a bit.

Looked like a very cool device.

  3. I’m still not convinced that the Droid/Milestone isn’t just another RAZR. That is, a big splash with no follow-up. Does Motorola have any other compelling handsets to speak of?

  4. Horay for Motrola, releasing such great phones as the Rival.

Oh wait it was the worst phone ever made.

  5. It’s hard to determine for sure how well the phone will succeed in the states: the droid has lots of advertising/marketing. If it succeeds in the u.s. it will succeed in Canada.
