Reminder: July 7th Rogers to start charging for incoming SMS

Text messagesJust a friendly reminder that tomorrow being (July 7th) is the date that Rogers Wireless will start charging customers $0.15 for each incoming text for those who don’t have message plan. This follows Bell and Telus making the move last year to charge their customers.

So if you’re not any message plan this only applies to you. I remember Rogers stated that this will only affect a small number of customers, something like 6% who are not signed up or do not receive many text messages. There are many plans and many options available… better to be prepared than expect a massive unwanted bill.

Thanks Mohsen!

    4. I called in today to complain about this new fee. They wouldn’t do anything for me. I ended up cancelling my hi-speed internet. I only have a few months left in my contract and after that I will be leaving Rogers altogether.

    5. A friend of mine was able to get out of thier three year contract with Rogers, 1.5 years early due to the wording. Turns out that some contracts work in the favor of the customer – Imagine that.

    6. Seriously this is fraudulent double billing. I’, not sure how our regulators at Industry Canada can allow this!
