Wunderlist is one of those under-the-radar productivity apps that just keeps on iterating. The company, which is based in Berlin, Germany, has been steadily adding features to its free-to-use cross-platform services for months now, focusing on raising revenue through enticing Pro features.
The latest update, for both Android and iOS, brings file attachments to Pro users, who pay $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, providing means to add documents or photos to specific to-do items. The company has apps for most important platforms, including Windows, OS X, with Windows Phone and BlackBerry apps promised for the future. There is also a very capable Chrome extension.
The idea is to be able to synchronize information seamlessly and behind the scenes between devices, and always have the most relevant state of your to-do list available regardless of screen you’re looking at.
The company has also launched pricing for business users, adding a huge swath of potential customers willing to pay for collaboration-based workbooks.
Wunderlist is coming close to five million active users, and its freemium model aligns with many popular services, the closest being Evernote (which also charges $49.99/year for its arguably fuller-featured Premium tier).
