Samsung Canada says part of their upcoming Super Bowl ad was shot with the Galaxy Note

Samsung Canada will be spending some big bucks this coming weekend to show their first ever Super Bowl ad. Taking centre stage in the big game will be the Galaxy Note – a phone/tablet that will be widely available on February 14th via TELUS, Rogers and Bell. A press release just went out that gave a bit of insight into what we can expect. First, it’s a 90-second spot which “Samsung handpicked Bobby Farrelly to direct his first ever TV commercial”. Farrelly help create such flicks as There’s Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin. The Note has some impressive specs, but what will be really interesting to see is the video quality of the commercial. Apparently “part of the commercial was shot using the Galaxy Note’s HD-quality video camera”… no other details of how much of the ad was shot using the Note, just “a part”. The Note has an 8MP camera that shoots 1080p HD videos at 30fps.
