Google is releasing a minor update for the Play Store that will see the app’s search functionality featured front and centre instead of hidden behind a magnifying glass in the top right corner.
Android Central reports that Google is switching on a server-side change that will see a large, prominent search bar appear across the top of the Play Store homepage when you launch the app. This offers a more obvious route to direct search within the Play Store, which will no doubt be useful to new Android users just getting used to the OS.
The only downside for Google is that the old design made search that little bit less convenient, and so people were probably more likely to explore the homepage and the various featured apps and categories that live there. We don’t see the change just yet let us know if your Play Store app has become more search-friendly in the last day or so!
