iOS 8.0.2 now available to download (Updated with comment from Apple)

Apple unleashed iOS 8.0.1 yesterday to the masses, but iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users quickly found out the update disabled cell service and Touch ID. An hour later, Apple pulled the update, issuing a statement that they are “working around the clock” and would push out iOS 8.0.2 “in the next few days.” Well, it’s now available for all to download.

iOS 8.0.2 brings a fix to the loss of cell service and Touch ID, adds HealthKit app support, and a number of others iOS improvements. The total size is between 65 and 75MB, and to update, head to Settings/General/Software Update.

Update: According to a report by CNBC, Apple said that less than 40,000 iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices were impacted by the iOS 8.0.1 software update. Apple previously reported that they sold over 10 million new iPhone after the first weekend of sales.

Update #2: Apple Canada has issued a statement about iOS 8.0.2.

“iOS 8.0.2 is now available for users, it fixes an issue that affected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who downloaded iOS 8.0.1, and  includes improvements and bug fixes originally in iOS 8.0.1. We apologize for inconveniencing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who were impacted by the bug in iOS 8.0.1.”
