Wow, that no-contract price is excellent.

The off contract price is even better if you know a Telus team member and have access to the team web store. Only $297!

That’s a really solid package for that price! It makes me think though..
Not sure about Telus, but if the usual justification for the early termination fee is that they need to recover what’s left of the cost of the phone, why do they ask for more than what the no-contract price of the phone, even when you’re 2 years into a contract..
I have a year left with MTS and they’re asking for $360.. Meanwhile, my phone is just a Moto Z6m, PLUS I already paid $150 when I signed up ! (I know, I’m an idiot and got ripped off)
I don’t mind contracts, the only thing I hate about them is the early termination fee because its such an obvious bull fee made to keep you from canceling early. I really wish the government would step in on that issue. The early termination fee should be calculated on an individual basis (ie. no-contract price, -subsidized price, and further adjusted depending on your whether you have a data plan or not, etc.).
Makes no sense the way it is now. its just a flat rate $30/month left, regardless of phone or plan.

It is kinda a bull fee. You’re not thinking outside of the “phone.” The cost of acquisition includes other things like marketing, etc. It’s not all about the phone. But it is a bull inflated fee to make money.

You could have released this before Christmas.

no they couldn’t have – what would they have done with all the backstock of 8330’s they had???
There’s a reason it’s been on for $0 on a 3 year since Christmas…now they’ve dropped it to $0 on a 2-year!!
