Rogers renews deal with TIFF until 2027

This three-year deal will keep Rogers in the chief sponsor spot

Rogers has renewed its partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for three years. This will keep Rogers as a major part of the festival, and the telecom’s branding will be on the TIFF’s People’s Choice Awards until 2027.

A press release says that the two companies are excited to work together as the festival continues to grow. Rogers sponsored the show in 2024 and had a record-breaking 700,000 attendees. Since the 2025 show is the 50th anniversary of the film festival, there are expectations that there will be even more people in attendance this year.

The federal government donated $23 million over three years to grow the festival as a larger hub for buying and selling films, but that project isn’t expected to come to fruition until 2026. Bell was paying roughly $5 million per year to be the lead sponsor of TIFF before it backed out and was replaced by Rogers. It still remains to be seen how much Rogers pays, but it’s likely in the same ballpark.

The press release also mentions that TIFF and Rogers are working on an original content series and a special 50th-anniversary TV special for CityTV. Rogers customers also get VIP access to events at the festival through the carrier’s ‘Beyond the Seat‘ program.

TIFF takes place on September 4 to 14 in Toronto.
