TELUS expanded its network recently to include many parts of British Columbia, and today it has turned on its LTE network in a couple Albertan cities, too. Lethbridge and Taber are seeing speeds of nearly 40Mbps according to these screenshots sent to us earlier today.
The company promises to bring LTE service to 80% of Alberta and British Columbia by the end of the year, expanding soon to oil-rich Fort McMurray and Lloydminster in the coming weeks. While theoretical maximum speeds are in the range of 75Mbps, 12-25Mbps is more generally expected.
TELUS is pushing its LTE network hard in Canada’s west as is looks to increase the prominence of Optik TV for mobile, called Optik on the go.
