Huawei, TELUS and Carleton University create the “Huawei-TELUS Innovation Centre for Enterprise Cloud Services”

The “cloud” is the growing trend and it’s user adoption over the next few years will increase dramatically. Today, a $1.4 million deal between Huawei, TELUS and Carleton was announced that created a research lab at Carleton University. The “Huawei-TELUS Innovation Centre for Enterprise Cloud Services” has a to “research real-world problems associated with cloud computing such as security and performance issues.”

Rafik Goubran, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton, said “This innovative partnership will lead to exciting research and development possibilities for Carleton students and staff at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The new lab being located at Carleton in the nation’s capital is yet another sign that high tech is again on the move in Ottawa, providing our students with hands-on, real-world experience that will give them a competitive edge in the Ottawa job market”.

This is the second partnership Huawei and TELUS are working on together. Earlier in the year they started a “Joint Innovation Center in Canada” that focuses on broadband solutions, wireless and wireline offerings. So you can expect many more Huawei products in the coming years from TELUS.
