Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes to offer plays Hearthstone style card gameplay

With the release of Hearthstone back in 2014, Blizzard Activision effectively revived the digital card game genre. Now it looks like EA and PopCap Games wants in on the action with its recently unveiled Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes collectible mobile card game.

The game’s card decks are reportedly organized around a specific “hero,” which includes characters from the mobile Plants vs Zombies title, as well as the series’ third-person spin-off Garden Warfare 1 and the recently released Garden Warfare 2.

Hundreds of cards and multiple daily quests will be part of the game, as well as full-fledged single-player campaign. Other than this information, however, very little is known about the title.

Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes is set to be released later this year, once again pitting war-torn plants against hordes of undead, only this time in card form. Before its official release, the game will also soft launch in select regions (it’s currently available in New Zealand).
