Square Enix has revealed a new look at its next highly-anticipated action-RPG, Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
At Gamescom Opening Night Live in Germany, game director Naoki Hamaguchi took to the stage to showcase more from the third and final instalment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.
In the footage, we get a close look at the major Weapon enemies that the planet has conjured up in response to Sephiroth’s actions. We also get a glimpse at the submarine, a returning gameplay mechanic from the original FFVII, as well as more of the seamless open-world, which will be explorable via the Highwind airship. All in all, it looks incredibly polished.
However, we still didn’t get a release date, with Square Enix simply reiterating the spring 2027 window it confirmed earlier this year.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. This multiplatform release is a notable move, given that the previous two games, 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake and 2024’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, were PlayStation exclusives to start.
