Apple debuts MacOS Golden Gate

The new update further improves upon Liquid Glass

Apple has announced its latest software update for its computers, and has dubbed it  “Golden Gate.”

This new OS, for both MacBooks and Mac desktops, adds onto the liquid glass update from last year’s controversial macOS Tahoe update. The first of these includes a new adjustable slider for liquid glass in the settings, allowing you to change how much you want.

Alongside this, the icons have been updated to include liquid glass, making them more consistent with the new design language.

Speaking of consistency, Apple has also addressed rounded corners across system windows, introducing a fixed corner radius for all apps and system windows, including third-party apps and those that haven’t been updated to the new system.

One interesting new feature Apple has added is the CPU indexer, which lets you adjust the priority of computing power.

Here is the new CPU scheduler

Apple has also completely changed how it indexes content, including indexing new content immediately when it is on your computer.

More to come…
