Apple stores opening at 7:00am Friday for iPhone 4 launch
It’s getting closer… less than a couple days away until the iPhone 4 officially launches in Canada. Apple has updated their site and announced stores will be open at 7:00 on Friday. They state “Arriving at your favourite Apple Retail Store on 30 July. Stores open at 7:00 a.m. iPhone 4 is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit two per person.”
Anyone lining up? If so, what time you planning on getting there?

I am staying at WEM hotel.Already asked several wireless retailer’s.There is a booth by the hockey rink selling Ghost Armer they have it for iPhone4.Got it on my 3Gs looks/works great.Only $37.00.

Nope. I plan on sleeping in and watching it the story on the Noon News Hour and see just how many people walk away “happy” and how many end up being pissed off (which will be a lot).
I hope someone from Samsung or HTC walk by the line-ups and show off the Galaxy S and/or the Desire and be all like…”haha look what I can do on my phone. I can hold it and it wont drop calls or lose signal strength and I can customize it and have widgets and personlize it my way, instead of having restrictions on what I can and can’t do”…
P.S.- I like how its 2 days away and none of the BIG 3 want to share info. Something tells me they are all nervous about releasing the information about pricing, plans etc. because they know they are going to get yelled at because the plans will be crap and/or they know the iPhone 4 has issues and would just rather not promote it as much as pervious iPhones.

Thanks for replying, its funny though how I was downranked just because I said I was thinking about getting an iPhone. There are some serious fanboy trolls around here it seems. I don’t even own an iPhone and most definitely would never lineup for any product. Just want the 6GB plan.

Well, for one thing. I never downgrade or upgrade anyones comments, i think that system is so dumb and disrespectful to people who just like to comment on news articles (case in pont: http://www.n4g.com).
For another, I can tell why you got disagrees though, because you basically said you were only interested in the iPhone 4 just because of the 6GB data plan. What you fail to realize is that the 6GB data plan can be used on any smartphone starting on July 30th. I’ll agree that most of us on this site, including myself, are not fans of the iPhone 4 for many reasons, and your comment just sounded as if you were only interested in the iPhone 4 cause of the 6GB plan.

So I’m still confused. I’m assuming this information is for the apple store, but what about if you want to sign up for a 3 year contract with Bell or Telus or something? Does each store open at 7 am too?

i like how people slam the iphone 4s reception without realizing ATT has service issues in alot of areas in the states, if you live in the toronto area on rogers its less likely to have issues as bad, the iphone 4 doesnt has many issues in other countrys

I’ll be there. I expect there won’t be too many people since most will want carrier subsidies – Apple only sells iPhone 4 unlocked and outright in Canada.

Answer to the question: No, I do not plan on lining up. If I do get the phone, it will taste just as sweet having known the price and stipulations before I spend time in a lineup.

I’ll be laughing at you all when I get a new Blackberry with OS 6 which has a faster browser, and is a smart phone that is good for things other then useless games and can actually be used for communication.

Line up? Umm no. I’ll just wander down sometime after work. If they still have them I’ll get one. If not oh well. I am currently running an old LG Shine Flip so It’s way way past time I upgraded. Going with Telus this time as they are the only company to offer limited voicemail with the basic plan. So my options are iPhone 4 or HTC Desire. The fact that the HTC Desire can’t do 720 p video recording out of the box irks me. They say that this will be fixed at a later date with an “update”. I’ve trolled the forums enough to know that getting any kind of update on android phones is like pulling teeth. No thanks. I’ll get the iPhone 4 and put a rubber band around it.

I’ve been waiting for over a year for the right phone to come along (I was hoping for an Android Evo 4G or Droid Incredible type phone to come to Rogers… X10? No thanks) and I can’t wait any longer to upgrade so I will probably get the new iphone. It seems to be the best hardware available on Rogers minus a few issues and I’m ready to upgrade. Might swing by a store before the 9 am open and see if there’s a line.

@ Adam Halinaty: No, you can buy locked iPhones from the Apple Store as well. The Online Apple Store only sells locked ones, but retail stores will have both. Sorry to shatter your hopes and dreams.
