Alcatel announces 2-in-1 Windows 10-powered Plus 10 tablet

Alcatel today announced a new Windows 10-powered tablet at Mobile World Congress.

Officially called the Alcatel Plus 10, the device features a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel display and is the company’s first 2-in-1 tablet. The LTE-enabled tablet sports a detachable keyboard and can act as a WiFi hotspot for 14 other devices.

As for specs, the Alcatel Plus 10 is powered by a 1.92GHz Intel processor, includes 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, dual front speakers and a 5,830mAh battery. In addition, thanks to a special keyboard attachment, consumers can add an additional 2580mAh battery to help power the device through the day.

The tablet also has USB, micro USB, micro HDMI ports, and comes with a 5 megapixel camera as well as a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Alcatel notes that the Plus 10 is also 40 percent lighter than an average laptop, but does not specify how much the device actually weighs.

Finally, while there’s no firm Canadian launch date, the Plus 10 is set to be available in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa in June 2016.
