Rokid, a smartglasses brand, has launched its new ‘Rokid Glasses’ and ‘Rokid AI Glasses‘ in Canada.
These smartglasses use AI capabilities to enhance the integrated 12MP high-definition camera, which enables visual search, image translation, and hands-free photo and video capture. The update lets users gain immediate context about what’s going on around them.
It also has built-in private directional speakers to help with audio-based information like turn-by-turn navigation to reduce distractions and minimize the need to pull out your phone. However, what’s coolest about the Rokid Glasses is the dual-eye monochrome display powered by the “world’s smallest” Micro-LED engine.
A benefit of the Rokid Glasses over something like the Meta Displays is that you get to choose your preferred AI assistant, including Google Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The glasses also offer real-time translation in more than 89 languages.
In Canada, Rokid is working with Markham-based Ming’s Optical to offer a range of prescription options.
Rokid Glasses and Rokid AI Glasses hit the market on September 1. Rokid Glasses with the display cost C$999, and the one without costs $549. However, to celebrate the Canadian launch, if you purchase ahead of the release date, the Rokid Glasses will cost $899 and the AI Glasses will cost $499.
The first 200 customers also get a Rokid Capsule battery (a 13g capsule).
