Crowdfunding giant Kickstarter is coming to Canada this summer

Remember Pebble? Waiting for Memoto? Enjoying Chameleon Launcher?

All of these products owe their physical or virtual success to Kickstarter — or, more importantly, the thousands of people who backed the projects using Kickstarter’s ingenious crowdfunding backend.

And while much of the press lately has been somewhat negative, thanks to a seduction manual that went under the radar, and two less-than-necessary movie projects, Kickstarter has been great for entrepreneurs all over the world.

This summer, thanks to a new initiative, Kickstarter projects will be coming north of the border into Canada. The company announced today that Canadians will soon be able to launch projects. At the moment it’s just a landing page, but Kickstarter promises more information soon.
