Samsung Galaxy Note II now rumoured to be announced on August 15th

Earlier rumours pointed towards Samsung unveiling the next-generation of their Galaxy Note at the IFA in Berlin later this month, but new reports suggest it’s happening in the US on August 15th.

On Friday, Samsung sent out media invitations to attend an event that will show off “the newest GALAXY device.” This, according to a report in BGR, is when the company will show off the 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II. No other details are given, but rumoured specs of the Note II have it possibly coming with a 12 or 13MP camera, quad-core processor and running Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Samsung has now sold over 7 million Galaxy Note devices and it’s expected that they would have a follow-up device with better specs and features. However, until the official announcement, or leaked images surface, the Note II is still a rumour.

It would be nice and I want it to be the GN2, but I take any BGR announcement with massive quantities of salt.

Still hoping something like Exynos 4420 with LTE or S4 with Adreno 320 graphics. Super Amoled HD display (Plus? Youm?). Android Jellybean (very doubtful). I’m sure they will reuse the GS3′s camera for it so 8 MP.

    Bring it on Samsung!

I AM WAITING FOR IT TO REPLACE MY GALAXY NOTE, NO SMART PHONE IN THE MARKET CAN CHANGE MY MINED EVEN IF APPLE WILL ANNOUNCE ONE LIKE THE NOTE

August 15th or not, the original Note was so massively successful that I don’t think you’ll have to wait long :) .

A few months from now might make more sense since the GSIII just launched and still has a lot of momentum, but if they release it soon that’s a tremendous 1-2 punch from Samsung.

cant wait to get my hands on this device … the international version of course!

    Native aws support please

    • bob

The Note 1 supports AWS. If Wind upgraded to LTE, the Galaxy Note 1 would work on Wind.

    • hopeful forever

Oh, I know that I can flash the radio to get AWS on the Note 1 – but the antena isn’t set for it so it has a weaker signal strength.

What I’m hoping for is full support, full str. on AWS.

Now, if Wind can acquire some of that LTE bandwidth — that would be magic!

    Why not 7″?

Wife got the OneX last week and im waiting with my crappy arc for this to come along, the sooner the better, i can’t deal with this piece of crap anymore!

I’m not sure if others noticed this but I saw it mentioned on another Site that the announcement came from Samsung consumer electronics and not Samsung telecommunications, so it was surmised that the announcement was more likely the note 10.1, I echo the feeling that BGR should be taken with a grain of salt.

I was expecting the 10″ Note as well. We need a 10″ phone, so why not announce it now?

    BGR= Bullshit Gadget rumors

  • Sadik

i tried the note the s3 but the best is still
    the galaxy nexus with 4.1.1

This garbage is gonna have 4 hours of battery life lol.

Why not just release a 7″ version of the phone and dominate the phone space and tablet space all at once? *sarcasm* I can’t believe this many people want such a giant sized phone. It’s like phone technology in reverse. Go from big to smaller to small to smaller to big to ridiculously big.

    • metoo

Exactly. We are in the age of convergence. A 5.5″ phablet isn’t big enough to be a good tablet and is too big to be a phone. They need to stop kidding themselves and their users and do a 7″ and a 10″ phone. I mean we are now closing in on a 6″ phone with the Note 2, so why keep playing games and not just do it properly?

    • Pat

I have a Note, and believe me, I have no need to carry with me a tablet around the world. The Note is big enough to be used for all tasks.

    • metoo

No, it’s not. That’s why the Note 2 will be even bigger. It’s also why they are going to do a 10″ Note. Be happy with you tiny little phone, but bigger better ones are coming.

Upgrade coming in fall… I want this

  • Ron Mexico
