Bell launches the BlackBerry Curve 9380

We’re guessing Bell couldn’t wait the weekend, they just didn’t want TELUS to take all the glory. The all-touch BlackBerry Curve 9380 was scheduled to be released on November 28th, but it popped up on their website today and is available to the masses. The price points are generally the same, Bell is $0.04 cheaper on a 3-year at $49.95, but rises to $374.95 on a no-contract – which is actually $5 more than TELUS. If you’re thinking about scoring this BlackBerry 7 smartphone, make sure you read our full review here.

  1. That price isn’t much cheaper than the Torch at Mobilicity! Why bother? $200 to $300 would be reasonable.

    • More like 150-200.
This is barely better hardware than an Optimus One!

  2. $375 No term pricing. That’s a decent deal.

On a side note how the hell is Bell getting every single phone that comes out?

    • The BlackBerries tend to be released to all carriers, which also explain why the Torch 9810 is available almost everywhere except Public Mobile and other few companies. The 9860, and now this 9380, are less popular models, so only the Big 3 and regional operators will carry these.

Plus, you’d hope to get this on prepaid. But $375 for a Curve is unacceptable. $300 is already steep enough.

  3. I don’t know who sets the price…RIM or the carriers, but Blackberries are NOT worth the price they are selling for.

Blackberries are overpriced for what they offer.

  7. Because asking customers to pay more for less features, apps, and power is the great vision and strategy of RIM to get out its mess, I know QNX is coming September 2012.

  8. $374.95 off-contract? Still too much for cheap hardware and useless software. Still won’t hold people back from buying it. Where’s my Galaxy Nexus?

  9. If this was $199.99 no contact.. I think they would sell among teens.. paired with a $35 social networking plan with BBM/Twitter/Facebook = PROFIT $$$$$$$$$$$

  10. Far too expensive for what you’re getting. There are plenty of low-end Android handsets with similar specs for around $100-150. This can’t even play Angry Birds!!!
