Huawei Watch coming to Canada this month for $499

Huawei Watch

Lots of people were impressed with Huawei’s first Android Wear smartwatch when it was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in March, and today Canadians are one step closer to being able to buy one.

The stainless steel Android Wear smartwatch will first go on sale in the United States on September 17th, with prices ranging from $349 to $799 USD at GetHuawei, Google Store, Amazon and Best Buy. Canadian shipments will begin on that same day, but pricing has not been finalized just yet.

There are six different models to select, including stainless steel, black, and rose gold-plated (which is coming later this year). The Huawei Watch has a 1.4-inch 400×400 pixel AMOLED display, a quad-core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM, a 300 mAh battery, and all the expected sensors — gyroscope, accelerometer, PPG (Heart Rate Sensor), barometer — with iPhone support on devices running iOS 8.2 and higher. Of course, all Android devices running version 4.3 and higher are also compatible.

Update: The Huawei Watch has arrived on the Google Store and is currently showing only the Silver model available for $499. Google indicates that it “Leaves warehouse by September 17” and includes free shipping.

Update #2: For those purchasing the Huawei Watch might want to consider the Charging Cradle for $49.00. Unfortunately, this is not available yet to purchase and is “coming soon.”
