OnePlus 2 teardown shows the “2016 flagship killer” is easier to repair than its predecessor

While many OnePlus fans are eagerly waiting for an invitation to purchase the latest “flagship killer,” iFixIt has gone ahead and dismantled one for your viewing pleasure.

The OnePlus 2 has been deemed “exceptionally cool by the iFixit staff,” with a repairability score of seven out of 10 — 10 being the easiest to repair. This is an improvement over the OnePlus One, which garnered a repairability score of five out of 10.

iFixit notes you shouldn’t perform this act without the correct tools, and while some parts are expensive to repair, such as the display being fused together, and the eye-popping orange battery, most of the phone’s parts can be replaced without damaging internal components.

OnePlus announced earlier this week that eager North American customers, including Canadians, will have to wait at least two to three weeks before the device ships.
