Pebble update brings full notification support to Android

Android-sporting Pebble users can now boast of a similar feature set to their iPhone compatriots.

With Pebble v2.1.0, the company has added the ability to enable notifications from any app on the phone, something that had to be done through third-party alternatives like Pebble Notifier before.

The feature only works on Android 4.3 and above, but Pebble says it will back port that feature to earlier versions at some point in the future.

Also new is the Pebble for Android app itself, which has been rebuilt from the ground up, according to the company, to perform better and remain more stable.

Pebble’s new Firmware 2.8 expands support for dozens of new languages, including Danish, Somali, Swedish and Zulu, among others.

All told, this is one of the biggest releases for Android Pebble users since its inception, and we’re happy to see that the company is taking the platform seriously. It was touch and go for a while there.
