BlackBerry wins three Red Dot product design awards for Q10, Q5 and Z30

While sales of BlackBerry 10 devices have not been able to turn the company’s finances around, the company has been recognized for the design of its latest smartphones. BlackBerry has won three Red Dot Awards in the category of product design, specifically for the Q10, Q5 and Z30.

According to the press release, a 40-member expert panel evaluated 4,815 entries from 53 countries and selected the winners based on “quality and innovative strength.” The Q10, Q5 and Z30 were all released over the past couple of years and feature several iconic BlackBerry features, including the physical QWERTY keyboard. It also won a Red Dot Award for the BlackBerry Z10 last year.

Brian Paschke, Senior Industrial Designer at BlackBerry, said, “We pride ourselves on industrial design that is simple and intuitive in functionality, while maintaining iconic and familiar elements such as our keyboard and productivity-based user experience. While our smartphones have evolved over time, we remain focused on being highly detail oriented in order to deliver modern and high quality devices.”

BlackBerry will be launching the Passport in September and the Classic in November.
