Apple’s App Store is available in 155 countries and houses over 1 million available apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. Apple just announced that customers spent over $10 billion in the App Store in 2013, with $1 billion coming in December alone. Apple also pointed out that December was “the most successful month in App Store history” with over 3 billion app downloads.
During WWDC 2013 back in July, Apple declared they’ve paid out a total of $10 billion to developers, but the number has now risen to $15 billion.
Apple’s Eddy Cue stated “We’d like to thank our customers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store. The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing and we look forward to seeing what developers create in 2014.”
