New BlackBerry 10 photos reveal a little more of what to expect

BlackBerry 10 is one of the most anticipated products of the year, and the more we see of it the more we like it.

CrackBerry got a chance to look at the newest build of BB10 on a Dev Alpha device and the photos speak volumes about how easy it will be to navigate through the various screens and access notifications at a glance from wherever you are.

The music player is shown off, too, and it looks quite familiar, taking some cues from Android 4.0. Nevertheless, we’re excited to see more of what RIM brings to the table in the coming months.

Check the break for a few more photos.

  3. I’m sharing these pics on my facebook page cuz they need the free press LOL.
    But seriously.

I’m serious. Share this. The only way to go up against android and iOS, which is popular on users on facebook, is to post this pic but not to post any commentary on it.

Try it out. The worst that happens over there is no likes. The worst that can happy here is a thumbs down for this post.

    • Agreed – media is a large chunk of the reason RIM is starting bite the bullet quicker than they should be. They need all the positive press they can get

  5. Wow….this looks interesting. Getting the developers inline will be a big thing. Come out of the gate with some interesting apps, carriers onside with promotion and BB might not be out of the game yet.

  8. Photos are great but…RIM, hurry the hell up and bring these to market already. I understand they want to get the devices right because alot is riding on their success but seeing as how these BB10 devices should’ve come out last year (early 2012 at the very latest) there’s no time like the present or near future. We are WAITING!!!

    Oh – I like the BB10 OS :)

  10. This is good news for all of us. Competition from other companies has forced RIM to produce better phones and a better OS. If BB10 succeeds in any way, this will push Apple & Google to release better products as well and the cycle continues. Again, this is a huge benefit to us, the end users.

  11. This looks like a stable and able OS. I hope RIM manages to do everything right, price, marketing, apps, strong army of developer, as well as competitive app prices. They are fighting to catch up with everyone else (and i think they can do it), however if they try and only market and rely on the business niche market they will fail. Best of Luck RIM. People have told you what they want, its time you listened. If you don’t, you will be destroyed. Simple as that.

  12. …. that actually looks …. impressive. I’m shocked. If rim can get this to market with nice hardware there is no reason they can’t gain market share and compete.

Looks like an android clone to me. Still better than IOS tho.

    • Ok there Apple was close to being dead in the 90s… They are not going away anytime soon but I doubt Apple will maintain its market share. Android has already caught up and beaten Apple’s market share. Varity is good.. I want BB10 to succeed as well as WP8.

  24. It looks really clean and quite nice actually. The problem is that it needs to come sooner rather than later, because when it’s going to be released it will have some amazingly steep competition.

Also a nice UI is one thing, but people also get excited for great hardware with cutting edge-features (read: not outdated like some other windows platform)

    • @craig you are nuts…how much stock do you own of apple? they have been saying RIM would be dead 2 years ago and still nothing. RIM still has government in back pocket and crappy ios and android phones do not stand a chance. With mobile wallets coming out you will see that RIM will take over again and all these toys will be paper weights. BB10 os is going to blow the socks off of anything apple has ever done.

    • @BB You’re nuts, it will blow the socks off of anything that Apple has EVER done? You have to be kidding. I am all for a Canadian company making it big on the world stage but this is a company run by screw-ups. I work at a cellular dealership and 95% of phones that we have problems with are BlackBerrys. They’re terribly made, terribly coded, and woefully unreliable. Hopefully this is better than BB7 (Two cans and string would be) but it won’t be better then the competition.

They just can’t get it right.

or maybe I can just keep my SGS2 and get the winner of the BB10/SGS3 later this year!!

gonna be a great 4th quarter for smart phones ^_^

All this while the CEO gets 9.9 million dollar raise when, there is NOTHING showing that the ship that is RIM is going somewhere just a promise!

  38. “craig you are nuts…how much stock do you own of apple?”

Absolutely ZERO stock … and I own a GNexus, my previous phones were BlackBerry and I can tell you that when people upgrade their phones, they ditch BB and pick up either Android or Apple. After my friends try my Nexus, they’re blown away. BB10 is nothing spectacular and if build quality follows suit like their other phones, it will fail miserably.
