Virgin “Tester Team” looking for 5 people to test out the HTC One S

Virgin has opened up their registration page for the OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Beats Audio, HTC One S. This is expected to launch in the next few weeks and now those lovely Virgin Angels are giving you an opportunity to join their “Tester Team.” For those unfamiliar with this “perk,” Virgin opens up a pre-release device to 5 Virgin Mobile members to test out and report back to the masses on their experience. This time around those who want to participate will have to agree to the long terms and conditions, then communicate “in 100 words or less why you’d be an awesome Virgin Mobile phone tester”. The new Tester program starts today “and ends on May 10, 2012 at 11:59 a.m. (ET)”… which could possibly be the launch date.

Ew does this mean they’re only going to have the grey/blue version? Nooooo

    • DarkisFever

I personally really like the Grey/Blue combo that all the company’s seem to be getting. However it was stated somewhere on the net that Canada will not be getting the One S that has the space age shell shocked with 10’000 volts. I assume that the black one is most likely that material. Our version will be similar to the Legend in being a full Aluminium body. It’s unfortunate.

“…However it was stated somewhere on the net that Canada will not be getting the One S that has the space age shell shocked with 10’000 volts…”

Do you happen to know where on the net this was stated? It would be most disappointing if this was the case.

  • Gail Butler

I can be be a tester if you are still looking.

  • Joelb

I really really hope Fido gets the black version. This is the phone I want! Unless Samsung really impresses me on May 3rd I’m pulling the trigger on a One S.

Good, but i don’t understand why Syrup created two news reports today for Virgin’s HTC One S. The first one is for a contest available to Virgin and non-Virgin customers alike. This one (Tester Team) is only intended for Virgin customers.

Virgin’s Tester Team is a nice concept, though. It’s not necessarily “get it first”, but more like “get it free”. Competitors (even WIND, sadly) rarely do this nowadays.

I guess this means you have to be a Virgin Mobile subscriber.. damn.. lol

It would be fantastic if Koodo had better phone options. I’ve been with them since mid 2008. Great pricing, and they got what I need.

Not advertising or being a fan boy, just would enjoy having a better phone.

  • EddieWinslow

Great concept, however they always seem to pick people that 1) don’t know anything about mobile phones except how to text. 2) the people picked don’t tweet anything use full but “wow this device is so cool!”

  • Jay

Tester eh? Is that another way to say gimmic to get people to sign up? Way to go Bell… Err… Virgin.

  • Matt

I work for Virgin and in doing so I have to buy my phones outright….. I wish I could just be a tester too, in the mean time I still enjoy my SGSII.

  • Boojay

I would love to be a tester, as I am pretty good at figuring stuff out when it comes to electronics, games etc. Also. I am in need of a phone and can’t afford one right now. My phone is 3 years old and it doesn’t hold a charge for long. I have never had a touch phone, so it would be good experience. That is why I would like to be a tester :)

    Thanks

I would be a good candidate for the product tester because I like the new and whats popular devices.
