Rogers giving new and existing customers a free 6-month BBM Music trial

RIM launched their BBM Music app back in November offered BlackBerry users the ability to discover and share music with their BBM contacts. RIM first offered up a 60-day trial, then recently extended it to 120-days for “new BBM Music users only”. After the trial period the cost is $4.99/month.

There’s a new promo happening at Rogers that’s specifically reserved for new and existing customers who haven’t had a free BBM Music trial. The deal is that the trial period is simply extended to 6-months. We’re told that the promo started today and will go until March 30th and all you have to do is download the BBM Music app. This is not listed on their site, but we’ve confirmed this promo with Rogers. So go ahead and download the app here from BlackBerry App World.

  3. Just visited bb app world on my Wind BB. And what a surprise, rim has four months of bb music free for any network. All robbers are doing is piggybacking on rims offer, and I am sure through some backroom deal the extra two months do not cost rogers one red cent. Mobilesyrup, you are becoming a rogers talking head. They deserve zero credit for this and we all know it. Wonder what kind of deal you have with rogers to even consider this as being worthy of mention. Pathetic.

    • Very true. I never really paid attention to that. I see Rogers is only adding another 2 months. ITs not bad but i am sure Rogers can afford to add af ew more months then 6 seeing as RIM is giving you 4 months for free

  4. Here’s a novel idea, Rogers: How about making cellphone ownership affordable?

    • Their family plans are the biggest rip off of our time. Even kids know it’s not a good deal. You could get the phones on separate individual promo plans on the other carriers, get a lot more $hit included, and still be money ahead.

  8. Wow, seriously all the people on this site do is troll and whine and whine! You want to have your cake and eat it too! You want free stuff? Start up your own telecom company, set up business and change something. If you want no term buy the goddamn phone no term otherwise u got no one to blame but yourself. You want the phone free why not the whole goddamn service like we expecting telecoms to pay us to use the service they provide. SMH

    • Oh Leon Leon Leon. Dear you have not even paid attention to anything have you? A Multi BILLION dollar company can afford to put a service out for at least a year for free. Rogers calls them selfs the so called best wireless carrier YET they can not offer anything for free. This is something that will bring the company down soon. RIM offers it for 4 months for free. Rogers is adding another 2 months? Cmon give me a break. I am sure they can afford to give us 12 months for free. OH BTW since you think we all want things for free have you actually looked at Rogers lately? Read all the complaints about how NO ONE got the PS3 for free that they are supposed to or the Samsung galaxy tab for free when opening 2 lines. Those are supposed to be for free yet NO ONE got any. Scam Robbers is Scamming & i****s like you love it.

  9. Investing time and money into unnecessary, undesired things like BBM Music will be one of the reasons why RIM is going down the drain.

    Please rethink your priorities RIM.

  10. I believe Rogers did this in response to Telus’ Rdio for 6months free (better service and works on all smartphone devices). Atleast they are trying to be competitive. What has Bell done lately?

  11. @ Dimitri. I GOT my PS3 when I set up 2 lines and my discounted Tab for $150 when I added another. So yes people did get their free products. Its a RIM product not Rogers, why should Rogers give it for FREE for 12 months instead of RIM.
