The analysts were right about this one. Apple has sent out a press release that stated that first weekend sales of the new iPhone 4S has topped over the 4 million mark. Apple execs were quick to claim that the “iPhone 4S is the most amazing iPhone yet”. In addition, in 5 days of its release there are now over 25 million people using iOS 5 and 20 million have signed up for iCloud. All incredibly impressive stats.
“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”

When Apple released the iPhone 4 they reported record opening weekend sales of 1.7 million units, this number simply blows it away.
