Update: Samsung Galaxy Nexus specs revealed: LTE/HSPA, 4.65-inch curved display, 1.2GHz processor, 9mm thin

The Galaxy Nexus is apparently the go-to market name for the rumoured “Nexus Prime”, this is the “something BIG” that Samsung will be announcing on Tuesday. According to a report on BGR it’ll be another pure Google experience, exclusively available on Verizon in the United States. There’s no word on a Canadian, we know it’ll eventually be coming but don’t know when or with who. The following specs have been revealed: Android OS 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich”, 9mm thin (that’s crazy thin), a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD curved display (resolution of 1280 x 720), 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera that can shoot 1080p HD videos, 1.3 front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, NFC and a 1750 mAh battery… plus it’s LTE/HSPA so it’ll be very interesting to see who launches it here in Canada.

Samsung uploaded a video a couple days ago that showed a glimpse of the curved device, which also gave insight into how thin it is too. More will be revealed on Tuesday…

Update: Seems like there are a few trusted sources who are piping up about the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus. The good news is that it’s coming and it’ll be announced on Tuesday. GSMArena has stepped up and debunked BGR with his “tipster from inside Google, who claims to be familiar with the next Nexus phone and he basically put the previously speculated specs to sleep”. The specs, 4.65-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720, possibly a “blazingly fast” Exynos 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel with 1080p HD video-shooting camera, a 2050mAh, LTE-enabled and possibly a dual-mode GSM/CDMA radio… Again, Tuesday is the day – until a leaked shows up on YouTube.
