Fido prepping to release the LG Optimus 2X?

This is completely weird. Popped up in the Fido inventory are a couple accessories for the LG Optimus 2X, an Android 2.2 powered device that was recently released on WIND Mobile and Videotron. By no way does this confirm Fido will be launching this device, but we though if anything it would eventually be the Optimus 3D as Rogers is getting ready to sell it. However, it would be a great addition to their lineup… and why would they carry cases for a device they don’t sell.

The specs of the 2X has it coming with a 1Ghz dual-core processor, 4-inch LCD display that’s made of Gorilla Glass (resolution of 800×480), 8 megapixel camera that shoots 1080p HD videos, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling, Wi-Fi and measures in at only 10.2 mm thin.   2. Both Fido and Rogers Plus stores are run by Rogers Retail – you’ll always see Rogers stuff in Fido inventory and Fido stuff in Rogers inventory. Doesn’t mean that both brands will be carrying it though. Just the nature of the beast so to speak.

  3. From gsmarena website, people in the US who got this phone from T-Mobile for $250 are having problems and LG isn’t resolving any of the phone issues. A class action lawsuit against LG is brewing over this phone. Buy it at ur own risk. Read the gsm arena site for details

  6. Fido is getting the 2X, rogers is not.

    Fido is also getting the xperia pro and the Galaxy Q (One variant or another, we’ll see. )

    Next month is going to be awesome.

    • @Faded: I’m workin for a Fido direct dealer and we don’t have any info on that stuff yet. Can you confirm 100% (with evidence) that we’re getting those phones? You’ll make a LOT of people around here happy.

  10. I also work fora Fido corporate store as well and I just received a s**t load of accessories for this phone plus i also see the training modules as well
