Comparing to Apple’s App Store which has over 250,000 and Google’s Android Market which has 100,000 apps the BlackBerry App World needs work. Today Alex Kinsella, Senior Product Manager for BlackBerry App World, stated on Twitter that the App World “is 10,000 apps strong and growing”. There is no doubt that the BlackBerry App World has some catching up to do when it comes to the number of apps available. But when they launched RIM stated they were going for the quality of apps vs. just pumping out apps. However, with the recent adjustment of app rates I’m sure we’ll see this number significantly increase over the next few month.
