Want even more confirmation that the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Apollo is heading to TELUS? All you need to do is check out Best Buy as they’ve put it online before it’s officially been announced. It’s listed there with all the specs, but unfortunately it says “This product is not available for shipping” and it’s not available in-store either.
As for prices, Best Buy has this listed for the no-contract price of $249.99 and the other for $49.99 on a 3-year. Decent pricing for yet another TELUS Android 2.1.

This is also an unreleased device.
LG Shine Plus
Looks like the GSM/HSPA of the LG Ally in the US on Verizon.

Well, I can’t say I didn’t see this one coming or even knew what the prices would be exactly. But I guess no one reads the forums anymore, as you can see I had this up over a week ago:

Why is the 3-year price not free? The Desire is only $80 on contract.

Telus also lists it on their Student Plans page here under eligible phones – http://www.telusmobility.com/en/BC/plans/student40.shtml
“Select Smartphones on a 3 year term (in-store only): HTC Desire, HTC Hero, HTC Snap, LG New Chocolate, LG Shine Plus, Motorola Charm, Nokia E71, Nokia E72, Samsung Advance, Samsung Galaxy Apollo.”

This went from crap to quite good. I would definitely spend $250 to completely own something with those specs.

My friend at Telus said that they won’t be able to activate the Samsung Galaxy Apollo till Febuary. They probably won’t activate the Lg Shine plus till next year sometime.I’m guessing.

Yeah, thats why both of those phones are not only on bestbuy.ca, but they are also in the best buy flyer and if you check on telusmobility.com and look at the student plans it clearly states the “Samsung Galaxy Apollo” and the “LG Shine Plus” as smartphones that will work with the Student 40 plan.
And since the Student plans end on October 5th, you would think the phones would be officially released and activated by the end of September (my guess is by the end of next week). So, you may want to re-check with your friend.

Why is Best Buy releasing these phones if they are not released on the Telus website yet.Because I checked under smartphones on Telus website in Alberta I saw no galaxy apollo nor did I see the LG Shine plus. The Telus website hasn’t released them yet.

Because sometimes it works like that. They are called leaks. And sometimes a retailer may not advertise or display a particular product that is launching soon, but another retailer might.
In this case, Telus has yet to announce or display either of these phones on their website yet, because they are not officially released through them(TELUS) as of right now. However, Best Buy not only listed both of the phones are their website, they are also in their weekly flyer right now, thereby, leaking out the information that these phones are out now, and will be out within the coming days at ALL Telus Locations.
Leaks happen all the time, it’s like how most of us on this site know what phones are coming out well in advance of the telco’s announcing their line-up of phones. Because of internal documents, leaks, pictures of displays, leaked ads, leaked accessories for certain phones (ie. iPhone), etc. all these we use to tell which phones are coming on what carriers and when they will launch.
P.S. – Also, check your telus website again. Go to Plans and click on Student. Once you see Student 40 plan, go down to eligible phones and look for those phones in that line. Another way we know those phones are coming very very soon.
