Upcoming Blackberry Bold 9780 poses for the camera

Here’s the first image of what’s being labeled as the BlackBerry 9780. No word on when this is going to be available but known specs are that it’ll be running RIM’s new BlackBerry 6 OS, 3G and have a screen resolution of 480 x 360, 512MB of flash memory and will sport a darker  bezel than the 9700.

Update: Thanks to Jon who left a comment that you can now order the 9780 from SN Traders. It apparently has the full specs there with the price tag being $599.

  2. I guess that 6.0 won’t be on the current 9700. It kinda looks like the last one. Hopefully the blackberry 9800 is something to smile at.

  3. So basically they’re rereleasing the 9700 with a darker bezel and OS 6…from the picture I would’ve just thought it was an upgraded 9700. Way to confuse consumers.

  7. RIM’s releases are a joke to say the least. They’ve really fallen off the wagon with their phones. They just keep re-releasing stuff. The 9000 and 9700 are almost identical specs-wise and then they go ahead a release this. It’s such a bloody scam with this guys and they’ve gone nothing but downhill since the original storm release.

  8. maybe spec wise the 9000 and 9700 are similar but thats about it…the 9000 was a beast! whereas the 9700 is about the same size as the curve(albeit heavier and less plasticky)

    I do hope they come out with an upgrade for the 9700 though, I dont mind the Blackberry 5 but I really like the improvements on the 6
