Fido launching Prepaid internet stick October 1st, plus HSPA+ internet stick in Q4

Thanks to one of our Fido tipsters for this update. According to this internal doc it shows that they’e reduced the current mobile internet stick from $135 to $75 (no-contract), and also extended the 2 month Unlimited Data promo until September 3rd. More importantly Fido will be releasing a new pre-paid internet stick on October 1st. No other details on which stick it will be or how much. In addition, in Q4 Fido will release a HSPA+ internet stick that on paper says it will reach network speeds of 21 Mbps.

  4. I doubt it’ll be any good. Wind already offers a great plan and half price for 6 months.

  5. This is kind of neat. I really hope this will open the way for vaguely reasonable prepaid data on smartphones. Would be lovely for the very casual data user that I am.

  6. Wind & Mobilicity plans Are good, But Not to most of us canadians that dont live work and play in there home zones…
    4 cities is like buying a bag of chips to have One with flavor.

    Just hope fido Releaces Resonible pricing, And not just a 1GB only plan like vergins prepaid CDMA stick.

    i meen Prepaid GSM Data on a Nation Wide Network would be Grate.
    (No data Roaming in Canada)

    Just Stick the SIM in your phone.

    im gunna call customer service with a sim and say i gota unlocked stick lmao

  7. I’m pretty sure the 21 Mbps is coming in July or August. At least that’s what my Fido Rep says.

  8. And none of the offering from any company at all offer anything even remotely reasonable if you’re looking for something that will allow 20GB per month of internet use.
    All prices are insane so far.
