The time has arrived for another Nokia device to be added to the Rogers lineup. We’ve mentioned this a few times that this one is coming soon and the Nokia N97 Mini has finally been launched and will be arriving in stores shortly. Thanks to our tipster for sending us all the info for the Rogers N97 Mini. This is available on the following price plans:
3-year contract: $99.99 (Promo price with a monthly $45 Voice and data plan)
2-year contract: $399.99
1-year contract: $449.99
No-Contract: $499.99

Quick specs on the N97 Mini are that it has a 3.2-inch touchscreen (resolution of 640 x 360) , slide out QWERTY keyboard, 5.0 MP Camera with video capabilities, 8GB of memory and can hold up to 16GB with a MicroSD card, GPS, “Pre-loaded content including 4 full length Rihannasongs and 5 free premium games”,
lol not worth it especially with those prices.

This phone would have done better as a Unlimited Mobile Browsing phone. It’s strange that Rogers priced the 5800 at $199 at launch and it was eligible for UMB, yet Rogers prices the N97 Mini at $100 less, but requires data. Both phones are running the Smartphone OS ‘Symbian 60′. What’s the difference, besides one being a N-Series and the other not. Is the OS different? Rogers should allow this phone to use UMB. Make it a requirement to have UMB on a 3 yr term, like they did with the Vision Phones. They can remove the Car Kit with that option. Price the phone higher by $50, if need be. Just make the N97 Mini eligible for UMB! It will sell better that way!

You can get the N97 at this price with Bell… it’s obviously too expensive.

Rogers seems to be oblivious to competition from Telus/Bell. They are sticking hard to their old pricing model, just look at the difference in the Pearl 3G non-contract price.

Seems like a well-regarded phone based on reviews, though — maybe a good introductory smart-phone, like a QWERTY version of the Nokia 5800.

Good ole Rogers, really know how to strong arm their customers. This phone is not worth $499.99. That’s just the price they give to any new phones they get, it’s pretty crazy.
