For the longest time the TELUS HTC Hero was hovering around the $49.99 on a 3-year contract price. This was released at $99.99 on a 3-year back in November when their HSPA network launched.
If you’re into getting a contract then $29.99 is a great price for this Android 2.1 device. The other price points stay the same at 1-year contract price for $449.99; 2-year contract price is $399.99 and the no-contract price is $499.99.
(We say… bring on the HTC Desire!)

So, just to re-emphasize what’s wrong with the Canadian Wireless setup, here’s a summary of your Hero term options with TELUS:
Sign for 1 year, save 10%
Sign for 2 years, save 20%
Sign for 3 years, save 94%
I think the unique to Canada “3 year contracts” is going to be the one thing the incumbents hang on to as long as possible. They may improve their plan offerings, they may get better phones etc, but by god, they’re going to try their best to keep you shackled to them for 36 months if at all possible.

why is this news? 3 year contracts don’t count. I wish mobile syrup would stop giving Telus free advertising for such things.
