A few days ago we got a tip that TELUS was going to release the Nokia E72… we now have confirmation thanks to a beautiful internal screenshot (see below). No word on pricing or an official launch date for this slim smartphone. We hear it’ll be within the next 6-8 weeks.

Quick specs again for the E72 are that it has a 2.4 inch display (resolution of 240 x 320), 5 megapixel camera with a front-camera for video calling, auto-focus and flash, comes with a 600 mhz processo, 3.5 mm headset jack, full QWERTY keyboard with a five-way directional pad and optical trackpad, built-in GPS, WiFi, can hold up to 16GB with a microSD card.

Anyone know how long the E71 will be available until?

Even though not a groundbreaking phone, don’t forget that the E72 comes with integrated GPS navigation for free, with maps for over 70 countries. What I find particularly handy is that you can preload those maps for times when there’s no coverage or only expensive roaming. For example, the entire Canada & US fit nicely on my $20 2GB micro SD card.

Now when can I get this phone in Saskatchewan?
