We thought the other day when Best Buy put the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Spica on sale for $29.99 was a good deal. How about saving a bit more cash though! The fine folks over at Best Buy have decided to lower this touchscreen gem to a stellar $0.01 and a 3-year contract. Pretty good deal if you’re looking to join the Android “revolution”.
The Galaxy Spica has a 3.2-inch AMOLED HVGA capacitive display with a resolution of 320×480, comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with video capabilities, GPS, Wi-Fi, 800MHz processor, 3.5 mm headset jack and can hold up to 32GB with a microSD card (Rogers ships a 2GB card in the box)
The sale is on until April 29th. Check it out here at Best Buy
(Thanks Chris!)
I have to disagree with how this is presented.
Whether it is $29.99, $0.01, or $99.99 is not really that important – it is 3 years!

I have to agree with Tom, but I think the whole ‘contract’ thing is a whole other discussion. If you ARE switching to rogers onto a contract, or looking to renew a contract, then yes it’s a wicked deal and an awesome phone…but like TOM said – it is 3 years!
Do not do it…but do get an android – they’re awesome!

My biggest issue with the big 3 isn’t so much 3 years – would I sign one again? no, even with a plan I feel is fair. The problem for me is why they offer 1y and 2y terms where you get $50 or sometimes $0 off a phone yet magically a 3 year gets you 300+ off a device. Disgusting.

What I dont understand.. is why ppl like Tom cry about contracts… Listen no1 is forcing you to get one… you do know the Big 3 do offer non-contract terms right? take a 0year contract and go buy a smartphone for 500$
god !!!

Pretty sure the reason the big 3 are going nuts with the promo offers right now (6 months unlimited local calling from …ROGERS??!) is they’re starting to feel the heat from Wind, they see where this is going. Now that there will be actual competition we may see some real action instead of the 3 of them playing the “50 different plans, all of them basically the same, and all of them basically terrible” game.
