Calgary-based Multiplied Media, developers of the free app Poynt, has added the ability to search restaurants via your BlackBerry.
Poynt says the new section features restaurant listings that enables users to easily find nearby restaurants (search by Restaurants Near Me, Restaurants By Name and Restaurants By Cuisine), read reviews and book dining reservations. In addition, when you find a restaurant you want you can click-to-call, get the location on a map and driving directions.
Andrew Osis, CEO of Multiplied Media said “Dining and restaurant queries comprise approximately 50% of business searches in Poynt. With a feature this important to our customers, it made sense to deepen their experience with a standalone restaurant module. More restaurants to search, the added functionality of restaurant reviews and the ability to book a reservation will satisfy a large segment of our customer base.”
Poynt is also developing an app for the iPhone (private beta scheduled for Q3 and a commercial release expected in Q4 this year.)
