Proof: Pre-order receipt of Bell Palm Pre

bell-palm-pre-order-image-receiptA few days ago we let you know that Bell has started to take pre-orders for the Palm Pre, or what they say is “the most important launch in Bell’s history”. More Pre ads came when Future Shop and Best Buy showed them as “coming soon” in their magazines and also started to take pre-orders for the Pre.

Special thanks to MikeyB, one of our readers in Ottawa, who had to go to a couple Best Best locations to put his money down and finally make a deposit to pre-order his Pre. You can see on the sales receipt that it’s for $50.00 and he also said in his e-mail that he went to a Bell store and the “rep that I spoke to said the launch was supposed to take place on Aug. 1st initially but was delayed to Sept. 1st.”

So the Palm Pre pre-order does exist. We are also hearing from others that when they go to a Bell location their names are only put on a list, but no deposit money is given. Still no official word from Bell on the launch date, but everyday gets closer!

  1. its great to finally c a receipt, at least now we have some proof.

    however i call bs on the august 1st initial launch date. I very closely know a manager at a bell store and he had no idea of a launch date, so i doubt the rep did either…

    but again im very happy that theres finally a pre order service. Now to wait till tuesday and scurry amongst bestbuy's to pre order…

  2. If it's September 1st then bell / palm will miss out on my business.

    I've had a broken phone for over 2 months now and the sole reason I've been waiting on bell is their 'coming soon' status for the pre. I'm not interested in any of the other phones they have out and even though I'm looking at a $380 cancelation fee if it's not out by August 8th (the day my 30-day notice of moving my number goes in to effect) I'll be with one of the other providers.

  3. When I went in to pre-order the Palm I was told that they were not taking pre-orders. I was also told be a representative that the phone would not come out until October.

YO I TOTALLY WENT TO THE SAME BEST BUY AND WAS THE SECOND PERSON TO GET IT WHICH MEANS THIS GUY WAS FIRST! and the rep told me the exact same thing about september 1st. the best buy on merivale knows alot when it comes to this kind of thing. they knew about the macbook pro thing before everyone else. at least i think.

  5. Ya I'm a bit of a keener for this phone. I've been wanting this phone since I say the demo video from CES.

    Oh and I agree, Merivale was WAY more helpful than the Conventry road Best Buy.
