AppStore: Over 20,000 iPhone apps now available

138753-appstorenumbers_originalWhat are your favourite iPhone apps?  Is it Shazam, Yelp, iFart?

According to Apptism’s iPhone app tracker there are now 20,274 apps available to choose from. On January 16th, Apple officially announced that they crossed the 15,000 app and 500 million downloads mark. Again on November 30th, 2008 seemed to be the day that we crossed the 10,000 marker… so the number could be accurate.

Since launching on July 11, 2008 with only 500 apps and now getting close to 21,000 apps in 7-months is a very impressive number… in fact, Apple has changed the game for mobile phones.

    1. Apple has truly unleashed creativity and innovation from software developers. The kind of apps for the iPhone outshine Apple’s original features!

For example, for five bucks you can download a program called HealthCoach that assists you in losing weight. Amazing idea, but on a phone?

      I agree changed the game.
