    It’ll be interesting to see where this goes. Perfecting a truly autonomous driving system that could be licensed by manufacturers would be incredibly profitable.

      That round black top is the lidar. The only way that I can see the lidar become more discreet, is to add lidar scanners around the car/van. But that would add a lot more money to every vehicle. So if it means a safe and a less costly ride, then I don’t mind the lidar on top of a vehicle.

      Keep saying that and Waymo will pull this like Google did with Google Glasses. Honestly, innovation isn’t fashion. If having that ugly sensor on top will prevent the deadly crashes like those of the Tesla, then I’m going to take it.
