New leak suggests Samsung is preparing to launch a Windows 10 detachable tablet

Less than a day after new information came out regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S7 lineup, a totally new device from the company has leaked thanks to Evan Blass.

This time, the prolific device leaker has press renders of what he claims is the Galaxy TabPRO S, Samsung’s first Windows 10 tablet.

Besides the images you see above, there’s not much information on this device. We don’t have access to its spec sheet, nor do we know how much it cost and when it will be released.

While Samsung hasn’t been the greatest supporter of Microsoft’s Windows ecosystem, it makes a lot of sense for the company to release a Windows 10 tablet, especially one that features a detachable form factor.

Like all mobile device manufacturers, the company has seen its tablet sales decline consecutively over the past several years. However, like other OEMs in the space, it’s likely Samsung views detachables — that is, slate devices that come either with an optional keyboard or dock accessory — as a way to spur flagging sales. According to a recent IDC report, detachables like the Surface Book will help the tablet market grow once again in the coming years.
