Setting up speakers in a way that ensures audio or music sounds as good as possible can be a very frustrating endeavour, especially if you don’t have a lot of experience. Most users often end up placing speakers where they fit and dealing with low quality sound.
Sonos announced today that it has plans to end this frustration through Trueplay. If you have one of Sonos’ Play speaker systems – Play:1, Play:3 or Play:5 – Sonos’ iOS app now takes care of the setup process for you.
Trueplay uses your smartphone’s microphone to map the acoustics of the room your speaker is located in. The app then automatically tweaks the speaker’s equalization and other settings in order to deliver the best possible sound.
The technology is even intelligent enough to filter out ambient noise and wind, giving listeners you the best possible results.
