Rogers and YouTube Canada launch “YouTube Hits” radio show

The media landscape continues to converge. The latest example of this is online mixing with traditional radio. YouTube and Rogers Radio have teamed up to bring exclusive content to Canadians every Saturday with a radio show called “YouTube Hits.”

The hour-long experience is the first of its kind in Canada and starts today, September 5th. YouTube Hits is hosted by Blake Carter and Adam Wylde of KISS 92.5. Carter and Wilde will interview a different cast of Canadian YouTube acts every week, such as Daniela Andrade (700,000 subscribers) ConvosWith2YrOld (790,000 subscribers), MakeUpByEman (350,000 subscribers) and Corey Vidal (225,000 subscribers), with a goal to “reflect the amazing world of YouTube.”

An extension of YouTube Hits also aims “to support great new music from today’s biggest names and to help uncover rising stars.”

  • KiSS – Toronto, Kingston, ON, Ottawa, North Bay, ON, Sudbury, ON, Timmins, ON, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, and Victoria
  • CHYM 96.7 – Kitchener, ON
  • 91.7 The Bounce – Edmonton
  • 107.7 The River – Lethbridge, AB
  • Star 98.3 – Chilliwack, B.C.
  • Mountain FM – Squamish, B.C.
