Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab 3 today. This 7-inch tablet follows the design lines of the Tab 2, plus the specs have been slightly bumped up. As for the specifics, the Tab 3 has a 7-inch display (1024 x 600, 169 PPI), 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 3MP camera with a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8 or 16GB of internal storage that can expand to 64GB with a microSD card, and runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

No word on the Galaxy Tab 3 price, nor if it’ll be be coming to Canada, but Samsung plans to make the WiFi version available at the beginning of May, then release a 3G version in June.

This is a lazy work, Samsung. bump the capacity for the micro SD (32->64) and front-facing camera (VGA->1.3MP) and you call it ‘Tab 3′?

Was there a real need for Samsung to come out with another tablet?

  • Cass_m

This is their lowest end tablet. Looks like it mostly brings design in line.

  • EvanKrosney

Meh. Unless this comes out to <$150, the N7's still a better deal.

    Same Samcrap, different day.

Yep and you’re looking at it when you look in the mirror. Don’t hate on someone for their opinion. Samsung phones really ate garbage, you just happen to be too blind to see it.

  • Nadefrenzy

I don’t normally say this, but this is one garbage product by Samsung.

  • Darth Paton

This is a piece of s***! Is Samsung incapable of producing a good tablet? It’s specs are worse then the Nexus 7, it runs Touchwiz over 4.1 not 4.2, and its made out of garbage plastic.

Terrible! I have a Tab 2 and there some changes that I would have made. Higher res, more ram. I am OK with the dual if that means it sells at 150… but this is a joke. And they added totally unnecessary buttons!

I have a feeling that samsung will overflow the market until everyone is disgusted with all the different sizes of its tablets and smartphones. Samsung is obviously on the road of self-destruction…

If you’re not going to at least match the Nexus 7, then don’t even bother.
