Rogers brings back the “6GB Super” plan, today only

Rogers recently re-introduced their popular 6GB data plan – they actually named it the “6GB Super” plan. This expired on August 8th, but today Canada’s largest wireless carrier brought it back for a day of glory. We’ve been informed that the reason for the extension was because some stores had issues activating the plan on customer accounts on the 8th. This is not on the Rogers site, but it’s available today. Customers service is waiting to hear from you.

Here are the plan details:
- 6GB of Data
- Unlimited MY10 Canada-Wide
- Unlimited Messaging
- Unlimited 6PM Evenings & Weekends
- Unlimited Canada-Wide Calling from Your Computer with Rogers One Number
- 200 Weekday Minutes

(Thanks tipsters!)

And will Telus and Bell bring it back just for today as well?

Seriously if they want customers to get with them they should put this as a normal plan so people would want to go with them and it would force the other carriers to do it as well

    • M

I think they want people to buy impulsively. It’s a lot easier to trick someone when they have to make up their mind with limited time offers (like giving someone the “latest smartphone” with this plan which they’ll drop support for next week).

    • Todd

Time to cancel my Rogers internet and steal off my neighbours’ wifi signal

  • Beso

hopefully Koodo and Telus would bring theirs back and so is Bell :)

  • Brad

I can confirm this. Was having a horrible time last week, just got it earlier tody.

  • tommy

cant seem to find it on their main site?

    • Dave

it says its not promoted on the site

  • John

Who on earth brings a promo plan for a day. That is not enough time for anything.

    • ToniCipriani

That’s the idea… to pressure people into signing up.

    • excessdan

if you take 10 seconds to read the article, they are bringing it back for one day due to technical difficulties they had before the deadline.

  • cdub

I called customer service and they told me it isn’t being offered today and the promotion is over. I’ll try on Twitter since they are often responsive.

    • Matthew

Well, this plan is still being offered because I called in today and they gave it to me!

  • herooftheday316

    I got it last week.
Not bad so far but not Caller ID is terrible. I was hoping it would recognize the numbers I had saved already but no luck. I added it with VM. Another 12.75$ a month… I will bug them in a few months to bring it down if possible.

    -Mike

    • Warren

$12.75 for VM? What is this 1999? What a bunch of thieves!

    • Cam

Or just switch to a 7.00 mini call display and basic voicemail VP. Sure you’re paying extra for it but at least you keep 5.95 for an extra double double or two. Just call and switch to the cheaper VP. But only if you don’t need a larger voicemail box.

  • ximian

I don’t see this anywhere on the Rogers site ….

    • John z

Can you not read? It clearly said ” This is not on the Rogers site, but it’s available today. Customers service is waiting to hear from you.”

You guys need to start reading..

  • John z

A lot of people actually wanted this plan & got pissed off that on the 8th Rogers would not give it to them. As far as i know, a few people on a few sites are happy this came out for at least one day.

  • Jason A

Does anyone know what the price of this plan is?

    • nka

It’s 60$/month. You can find it by following the “old news” link.

  • Brandon

Does anyone know if i can get this with fido?

    • John z

      Its $60 + taxes.

  • Motoroler

All three offer a version of this plan at the same time… then they all pull the plug on it, at the same time. Rogers offers it for a day again, and watch the other two follow suit.

This is what we call competition these days?

  • Jonathan

I just made an inquiry to Rogers regarding the 6GB super plan. Apparently it’s only available to customers who attempted to activate the plan but were unable to before August 8th. Anyone today trying to activate the plan will not qualify.

  • anonymous

F*** them. NO VM NO CID NO DEAL!!!

  • shrimp

i just called rogers and the rep said there was nothing on the computer :(

  • metoo

I can’t believe people are buying into this plan. Complete garbage.

  • Shaun Lee

i would say, this plan is not hot at all…
but, at least you get another option, it is not bad.

  • nka

Old Plans was much more better. Now, they su*k! Before I leave Rogers to got with Bell (Rogers didnt cover when I moved), I had a plans with 200 mins local, 6GB Data, CID, VM, etc… for 50$ per month! This wasnt a Promotion… they were usual plans! I even got this lowered to 40$ + 5$ for 1000 LD later! Now I’m stuck with a ugly 55$ / month with only 1GB of Data and no CID/VM included.

  • Slype

Yup terrible plan but the tactics work. It is sad that in such a day an age were information is so readily available, that people still don’t research the products and services they buy.

  • asdf

well if you’re comparing a $60 1GB plan to $60 6GB plan, i think its awesome? no? *shrugs*

  • asdf

and people complain no VM or Caller ID… but the plan doesn’t say it includes it…

too late im done with robbers…ported outzzzz

  • Mike

They aren’t doing this blatant lie called and went to the store

  • Dave

Just called, and they don’t have the plan extended….

  • mobileuser

This plan is a good deal. Don’t forget this 6Gb super plan gives you LTE connection speed as opposed to the old 6GB which only provide 3G speed. Also, this 6GB super plan does away all those system access fee($6.99 and the 911 access fee-$0.75). This plan also allows free call at night starting 6:00p.m as opposed to 9:00p.m from previous plan and give you free MY10 numbers which you can call for free. As for caller ID and voice mail, these features have never been included in their standard plan and are only available as an add on features.Currently $7:00 for voice mail mini and $12:79 for enhanced voicemail which include 100 free sending and unlimited receving of international text messages. I have just changed to this new plan from my old 6GB data plan and with my better choice bundle discount, I am payiing less for this plan and getting more than what I got from my previous 6GB data plan.

  • Tutty Pishab

This is not true. Try. No way youll get it

  • loler

For $60 I would expect it to have CD + VM, 500 mins.

For what it is now, I’d pay $40.

  • Rogido

CSR said he can’t find it. He said he even asked his supervisor. Said info must have been leaked as a hoax!

  • denon1978

would be sweet if i could get this on my family plan

  • tremSr

    Called Rogers.
Customer service said it’s a no go. They only “brought it back” for those who had issues getting the plan prior to the 8th. You cannot call or go to the store and sign up for this. It is over.
They are also aware that this post exists and right away he said “it would be on the site, why would we keep it a secret”. It’s not posted on the site because it’s not available to the masses.

  • Rogido

But for people who already have it, can they make changes today, ie. switch it to the BB compatiable, or shareable version?

    • Jesse

No, SOC codes are only active for offline support teams. Customer facing reps will not see the SOC code in their system.

  • Darren

A little clarity would be nice – it’s not that great a deal, and it’s not offered to the masses as has been pointed out several times – only to those who missed out due to a technical glitch before August 8th..

Saying “customer service is waiting to hear from you” is a tad misleading.

    • Adam

That is completely MobileSyrup’s fault. but of course everyone will blame Rogers.
“…but…but…but… teh interwebz said i can has it!”

  • Jordan

I just wanted to let everybody know, if you call in to try to change it today, just tell them that you had tried on the 8th, and they WILL activate it for you. I just got my plan changed using this method.

  • charles

koodo still have the best plan for 6GB

  • David

Called a couple times. The reps said the plan showed as expired in their system and they couldn’t activate it.

  • Nate Allen

I just got this plan today! Called Rogers and they said it wasn’t in the system, walked into a Rogers store and left with the Plan!

  • muchski

Ok so called Rogers Customer Care twice and then some local stores, apparently the authorized dealers aka non Rogers Plus stores have to call in to a division of Rogers called DSG something like dealer support group and they will then do the change that way. I will try to call Customer Care and see if they can do this DSG thing over the phone although I am not too optimistic. Haha and the one dealer that could theoretically do it for, well their computers are down and they close in 20 minutes so no luck there! ARG!!!!

  • Matthew

So, this plan is still active cause I called in today and got it!
