Look like a new RAZR is on the Canadian horizon. Motorola Mobility Canada has announced that the RAZR V will be coming to several carriers in the Q3 timeframe. No word on the price, but you can expect this to arrive on the shelves of Bell, Videotron, Virgin and WIND Mobile, plus big box retailers including Tbooth Wireless, The Mobile Shop, The Source and WIRELESSWAVE locations.

This, according to Motorola is a “specimen of smartphone genius” comes with the familiar Kevlar fiber backing, 4.3-inch display (540×960), 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8.4mm thin, 8MP camera that shoots 1080p videos, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – no indication yet on Jelly Bean.

Look for this sometime this over the next 3-months.

Big Release day fot Moto it seems.

now with Google behind them, they could start to climb their way back up.

Eh, as long as it is priced right, it could be an awesome phone. Not the outrageous $600 virgin slapped the htc One S with (which also happens to share the same specs with the motorola razr v). At this point, the samsung gs II is still the best deal, $400 off contact

    540*960 display resolution?

    doest that even exists?

      its called qHD!!

Looks like a good medium end budget device. Also im glad to see more devices use soft buttons on the screen it really is useful

      its called qHD!

Has almost identical specs to the better supported sgs2. Definite pass

Q3 release without Jelly Bean? Well, any worries about Motorola getting preferential treatment under Google’s ownership should be thoroughly shot out the window now. I’ll keep my SGS2 though … only thing this has over it is a slightly higher resolution.

i have no doubt itll get jelly bean 🙂

why are you using big and fancy words like plethora?

So we can expect it to arrive on the AWS carriers yet the specs on Motorola’s website don’t seem to include AWS? I wonder if the specs are wrong or there will be different versions.

8.4mm thin? So, how thin can they go before people say “That’s enough!”? Do we have to go to the Zoolander-sized flip phone?

  • Sub-Joker

Hardware specs sounds almost the same compared to the current moto RAZR…..

Decent midrange device, but as others have mentioned, you’re better of with the GS2. The GS2 is such a great future proof device that was ahead of its time. It’s going to get Jellybean ported incredibly fast through the CM team and the plethora (too easy to steal :P) of other devs working on custom roms for it. Heck, I’ve gotten a few Jellybean features on it already like Google Now.

After the Motorola XT720 fiasco I won’t be going near another Motorola phone, while they may look nice , Motorola leaving their customers hanging out to dry is enough to make me stay away

I would hope this will change since Google bought them but who knows.

  • Shensmobile

8.4mm thin vs the RAZR’s 7.1mm thin makes me think that this phone will come packed with the 3300mAh battery from the RAZR MAXX. Not bad.

    • B.W.

Think again. The specs say it has a 1750mAh embedded battery.
