Sony files trademark for the “Xperia Sola”

A new Sony trademark filing has shown up at the United States Patent and Trademark Office: Xperia Sola. This could be a brand new device that Sony has on tap to release, possibly being an new unannounced Xperia handset. However, Sola could just be the name that Sony is trademarking for the Xperia S. The patent number is 85528680 and it covers the category “Mobile phones and accessories”. No other details are listed in the filing. Sola, translated from Lating means “alone; by oneself”. The Xperia S was shown off at CES 2012 and it’ll be coming to Canada early Q2.
